Portraits of Purpose Gallery
A Photography Exhibit by Don West

The BCAE is proud to host a photography exhibit from acclaimed photojournalist Don West, giving witness to visionary Black leaders and their allies in pursuit of equality and social justice in Boston and beyond during modern times.

The exhibit runs from February through April 2017. Free and open to the public during business hours. Copies of Portraits of Purpose, a beautiful coffee table book of photographs by Don West with text by Ken Cooper, are available for purchase at the BCAE for $45.

Writing With Passion/Storytelling With Purpose

Theatre artist Akiba Abaka leads this journey through the art of the parable. Find out how to draw on your personal stories to explore the questions you care about most. Whether your issue is cultural, social, or political, this interactive workshop will help you find focus through a series of creative writing exercises that stir your heart and stimulate your mind. You'll also learn how to give voice to your thoughts, listen to feedback about your ideas, and evolve them during this journey we call life.
